The standoff between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government and the protesting doctors continued, with discussions on the matter faltering for the third consecutive day.

CM Banerjee Hints At Protests Being Political Driven

CM Banerjee claimed that she waited two hours at the State Secretariat to meet the doctors, but they did not turn up. While most of the doctors were interested in the meeting, a handful sought to create a stalemate, she added.

The Chief Minister indirectly suggested that the demonstrations were politically driven and were backed by the left. Referring to the wave of anti-government messages across social media platforms, she remarked, “Our government has been insulted, and common people are unaware of the political colour involved.”

At a press conference, CM Banerjee asserted that she doesn’t want the post of CM, but justice to be served.

Junior Doctor Demands Live-Streamed Meeting

In response to TMC Supremo’s statement, a junior doctor who was part of the delegation to meet the CM stated that they wanted the meeting to be held in front of everyone. Additionally, they want the meeting to be live-streamed for everyone, not recorded.

He alleged that they will continue to protest till justice is served.
