‘Can’t Demoralise Our Forces’: SC Pulls Up Petitioners seeking Judicial probe Into Pahalgam Terror Attack

The Apex Court said judges are not experts in probe of terror cases. The top court said, "In this crucial time, each and every citizen of country joined hands to fight terror." The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking a judicial probe into the Pahalgam terror attack. The top court also pulled up the petitioners, asking them to withdraw the petition immediately.

The Supreme Court asked the portioners: “Is this the way you want to demoralise our forces?”

The Apex Court said judges are not experts in probe of terror cases. The top court said, “In this crucial time, each and every citizen of country joined hands to fight terror.” On April 22, terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving several others injured.

Attack on Kashmiri students

The plea highlighted the recent attacks on Kashmiri students across the country and cited the concerns raised by the Jammu and Kashmir government.

“I request the people of the country not to consider Kashmiris as enemies. It is not our fault. All of this is done by Pakistan. Kashmiris have also tolerated this for 35 years… There are reports that our children are being targeted in other states. This should be stopped,” Abdullah had said.

The Supreme Court asked the petitioners to approach the High Courts. Justice NK Singh said, “For prayer regarding students, you can go to the high courts.”

Pahalgam Terror Attack

On April 22, terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving several others injured. It was noted that this attack came in the wake of the successful holding of elections in the Union Territory and its steady progress towards economic growth and development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also assured the country that the terrorists responsible for this attack, along with those who conspired it, will face punishment beyond their imagination, The Prime Minister asserted that the time has come to eliminate the remaining strongholds of terrorism and that the willpower of 140 crore Indians will now break the backbone of the perpetrators of terror.
