CBI Arrests Two For Threatening Minor Girls In US To Share Obscene Photos, Videos

Both accused have been arrested under sections of IPC, The Information Technology Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested two men for allegedly intimidating minor girls based in the US for asking for their obscene pictures and videos through an online platform.

US officials shared inputs to CBI

According to PTI, the officials said “Operation Hawk” was started in January when the US officials shared inputs to the CBI’s International Division about the incident.

CBI arrested two men in separate cases

The CBI’s International Division arrested Sheikh Muizz Ahmed, a native of Mangalore, and Mukul Saini who is based in Delhi, in separate cases registered by the central probe agency. 

Accused arrested under sections of IPC

Both accused have been arrested under sections of IPC, The Information Technology Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The CBI sleuths had conducted search at their premises and discovered “child sexual abuse material” from their digital devices, the officials said. 

Accused induced girl to engage in sexual activities

The officials said that the two men induced the girls to talk about sex during online chat and asked them to share their obscene photos and videos. The officials said that the accused also allegedly asked them to engage in sexual activities online. 

Karnataka Police registers case against Mangaluru dietician

In a separate case, Mangaluru Police registered a case against a city-based dietician for allegedly posting anti-national and anti-Hindu remarks on social media, an official said.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal spoke to ANI on Tuesday about the case and stated that a case has been registered against a woman dietitian, identified as Atifa, following her anti-national comments on a viral social media post.

“Two days ago, a post made by the woman went viral in Mangaluru. Taking swift action, we contacted the hospital administration where she was employed and registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),” said the Police Commissioner.
