Police stated that they are investigating the matter to confirm whether the individuals jumped from the bridge or were beaten. Shailendra Singh Shyam, the in-charge of the Arang police station, mentioned, “The deceased had taken the buffaloes from a village in Mahasamund and were transporting them to the market in Odisha.”

The officer mentioned that the trio suspected they were being followed while on their way, so they redirected their vehicle towards Raipur. “We suspect that the perpetrators had planned this because they threw sharp nails which caused punctures in the vehicle carrying the bovines. The tires burst over the bridge, and the vehicle was forced to stop, leading to a fight between both parties,” Shyam added.
