New Delhi: After raising demands in Parliament to focus discussions on Manipur violence, 26 Oppoisition parties who have collectively formed an alliance called ‘INDIA’ will send a delegation to the violence-hit state on July 29.

As per the sources, the delegation will be sent under the leadership of Congress and the visit will be 2-days long.

Demands of Emergency Manipur Session 

A day earlier, the Congress Legislature Party in Manipur had submitted a letter demanding to convene an emergency session of Manipur Legislative Assembly on the “ongoing unprecedented turmoil” in the state.

The letter was submitted to Manipur Governor Anisuiya Uikey asking for her intervention under Article 174 (1) of the Constitution for addressing the violence carried out in Manipur for almost three months.

The letter pointed out that the state Assembly would be a right place where the discussion and debate can take place and solutions can be made to restore the normalcy in the state.

It also highlighted that several requests were made to Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh by different groups and sections of the society to discuss the issue but he did not repsond and no emergency meetings were held regarding the matter.

The CLP said that the emergency session will help with solutions to bring out the people of Manipur from dark.

No-Confridence Motion Admitted in Lok Sabha 

Meanwhile in Delhi, Parliament Houses were adjourned further amid ruckus over Opposition’s demand to suspend all business works and discuss on Manipur issue. Opposition bloc INDIA has been seeking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s brief statement on the issue.

Earlier on Wednesday, Lok Sabha Speaker OM Birla admitted a motion of non-confidence against PM Modi-led government. The motion was moved by the Congress Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi and the headcount was 50 as required under the rules.
