Vehicles on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway were seen crawling. The traffic jam made the road fully packed, making the commuters stand in place for minutes. Miles-long lanes of cars crawling one after the other seem to be haunting the daily riders on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. The reason for thing long jam is an accident that took place near the Sector 63 police station area on Monday morning.
Two bike riders were hit by a car on NN-9 in the Sector 63 police station area on Monday. The woman riding the bike died in the accident. Angry with the incident, people blocked the road. Police reached the spot and got the people removed by explaining. Due to this, a several-kilometer-long traffic jam formed from Lal Kuan to Delhi. The police then removed the vehicle and cleared the way.
According to police, Monica of Chhijarsi Chotpur Colony was going on a bike with someone known to her at around 6 am. Monica’s bike came under the impact of a high-speed Tiago car coming from Lal Kuan. Monica fell on the road and died on the spot. It is being said that the family members of the deceased kept the body on NN-9 and blocked the road for about 3 hours.
According to a commuter, ‘It has become clear that the reason behind the traffic jam was a horrendous accident before Sector 63 on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.” People heading to their offices are stuck on the expressway due to the traffic jam, which has already made them late for work.
According to a commuter, “Many of the two-wheeler riders have already found an escape route. They have lifted their vehicles onto the direct lane heading to Delhi. But just like me, several car drivers remain stuck in this abject misery that seems to continue for no apparent reason.”
