Gautam Budh Nagar along with Ghaziabad will mark thirteen villages and twenty-four villages TB-free on March 29. The officials determined these villages qualified for the designation after confirming they either had less than one TB patient per 1,000 population or had no ongoing TB cases. Thirteen villages under Gautam Budh Nagar will be declared TB-free. These villages belong to both the Dadri and Jewar blocks. These villages consist of Banjarpur, Rajpur Kala, Shahpur Khurd, Chachura, Chuharpur Bangar, Dalelpur, Lodona, Marhara, Mewla Gopalgarh, Chayasa, Uncha Amirpur, Jaitwarpur Naharpur, and Nagla Nainsukh. The government declared four gram panchayats in Noida as TB-free in 2024.
As quoted by Times of India, a senior health officer mentioned, “Among the 13 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar, two—Chachura and Dalelpur—are repeat winners from last year and will be awarded under the silver category, while the others will receive a bronze category award. Villages that achieve TB-free status three times consecutively will be honoured with a gold category award.”
Until verification status, the panchayat raj with the health department teamed up for extensive site visits. Among 24 villages recognized in Ghaziabad for TB-free status, four maintained their achievement from the previous year to qualify for the silver category. The district TB officer Anil Kumar Yadav noted that out of ten villages declared TB-free in the past year four received silver zone status for maintaining their status.
