Construction work has already begun, with the goal of improving connectivity between Atal Setu and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway by enhancing junction-to-junction traffic flow.

The Mumbai exit at Panvel on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will remain closed for six months starting February 11 due to construction work at Kalamboli Circle, according to media reports.

According to traffic police, the closure will impact all light and heavy vehicles seeking entry toward Panvel, Mumbra, and JNPT. The area will remain restricted to all traffic 24 hours a day to facilitate construction progress and prevent congestion.

Vehicles traveling to Panvel, Goa, and JNPT from the Mumbai-Pune Expressway should take the Konphata route (9.6 km) and then continue onto NH-48 via Palaspe Circle.

Individuals traveling from Pune to Mumbai and heading toward Taloja, Kalyan, or Shilphata should drive 1.2 km straight before turning right under the Purusharth Petrol Pump flyover to take Roadpali and NH-48 as their route.

As quoted by ABP news, DCP (Traffic) of Navi Mumbai, Tirupati Kakade mentioned that, “”Once the project is completed, the traffic congestion at Kalamboli Circle will be significantly reduced.”
