The various infrastructure-based projects are currently in progress. On the other hand, some projects are going to be implemented this year.
One such project is the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway. The length of this route is 701-Km. It is also called Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. This route will enhance connectivity and save travel time. This expressway will cross 390 villages and 10 districts of Maharashtra.
When this project will get open to the public it will reduce the travel time and boost the connectivity. The work on this route got started in 2015. The work of land acquisition started in 2017. Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of this project in December 2018.
This expressway will link directly with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Mumbai as well as with Nagpur Multimodal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN).
Commuters need to know that the 701 km expressway has 625 km operational. The remaining road of 76-Km will be open by March 2025. The Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway extends through each essential district of Maharashtra, with Nagpur being one of them, along with Wardha, Amravati, Washim, Buldhana, Jalna, Aurangabad, Nashik, Ahmednagar, and Thane. Currently, three wildlife sanctuaries possess underpasses that work alongside overpasses and high culverts, as reported by India TV.
As per reports, this route have 274 minor bridges, 6 tunnels, 65 flyovers, and 33 major bridges.
