Several projects have been initiated to deal with traffic-related issues in the Delhi-NCR and other regions. Noida is soon going to get its airport, which is likely to increase movement in the region, due to which traffic jams can be seen on expressways and other routes. Traffic from Delhi and Haryana heading towards Noida International Airport, Agra, and Lucknow will have direct access to the Yamuna Expressway. To facilitate this, a traffic interchange will connect two elevated roads. According to media reports, it will be constructed like one built near AIIMS in Delhi.
The Elevated Project
The two elevated routes are Chilla Elevated Road and the other one is from Pushta Sector 94 to Yamuna Expressway. The Chilla elevated route will be constructed for Rs 892 crore. The length of this route will be 5.9 km.
To ease traffic congestion on the Noida Expressways, plans are underway to build a six-lane elevated road and an eight-lane expressway from Sector 94 to the Yamuna Expressway.
The process of appointing a consultant firm to design the project will commence soon, after which the final design will be prepared. The integration of these elevated routes is expected to benefit lakhs of commuters traveling between Delhi and Noida.
According to Authority DGM (Civil) Vijay Kumar Rawal, the new infrastructure will eliminate the need for vehicles heading to Agra, Lucknow, and the airport to use the Noida Expressway. Instead, there will be a direct route from Delhi, Haryana, and Noida to these destinations. Additionally, traffic coming from Lucknow, Agra, and Greater Noida will also be able to travel directly to Delhi and Haryana.
Benefits From The Proposed Routes
Once this route is constructed, it will solve the traffic-related issues. This will solve the traffic jam issue at the Noida entrance and make the traffic movement smoother.
