A group of men allegedly waved a Palestinian flag and raised slogans after offering Eid prayers, the Saharanpur police said.
According to PTI, the police took cognisance of the incident after videos of the incident emerged on social media.
Vyom Bindal, SP City, said the police have taken notice of the matter after several videos were doing the rounds on social media. He said a probe has been launched into the matter, following which action will be taken in the case.
The police said that a group of youth waved a foreign flag after offering prayers at Eidgah on Ambala Road. He said the cops present on the spot soon took the flag from their possession. In between, the men fled from the spot.
In a separate incident, more than six people were injured as violence erupted between two groups after the Eid prayer on Monday in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Police said the groups clashed after the Eid prayer at a local mosque in which bullets were fired from both groups.
The incident took place at the Siwalkhas town in Meerut. Meanwhile, confrontations of violence surfaced between police and Muslim performing their prayers at the designated Eidgha for prayers at which officers attempted to disperse the group after controversy of them going to multiple prayer sites rather than the designated Eidgah.
