A case of sexual assault has been reported from Gwalior, where a 10th-grade student was invited to a birthday party and then assaulted by her friend. The friend gave her a drink laced with drugs, took her to a room, and then assaulted her.
He also took inappropriate photos and videos of her. Out of fear of getting embarrassed, the girl remained silent. The accused then started blackmailing her and continued exploiting her.
When the girl became distressed, she went to the police and filed a complaint. The police registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
The Girl’s Background and Friendship with the Accused
The girl, an 18-year-old student from Bhind, had been living in a rented accomodation in Naka Chandvani to study. She became friends with Sachin Prajapati from Panihar Banwar village, and they began communicating regularly on social media. They started liking each other.
In january 2024, Sachin invited her to his friend’s birthday party. Initially, she refused, but Sachin insisted, saying he was her best friend and it was important for her to attend. She agreed and went to the Comfort Hotel in City Center.
The Assault Incident
Sachin took her to a room, saying that his friends would arrive soon and that they needed to decorate the room. While in the room, Sachin offered her a cold drink, which made her unconscious.
When she regained consciousness, she found herself without clothes and Sachin sitting next to her with a mobile phone. When the girl protested, Sachin showed her the inappropriate photos and videos he had taken and threatened to ruin her reputation if she told anyone. He also promised to marry her, but later the accused began calling her to different places and continued to sexually exploit her.
The Girl’s Complaint to the Police
When she asked him about marriage, he refused. Distressed by the situation, the girl went to the police and reported the crime. The police registered a case under the laws related to sexual assault and arrested the accused. Legal actions to send him to jail have now begun.
