The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released an extended weather warning noting a sharp increase in maximum temperatures for many places in the country during the following week. According to the forecast, Northwest, Central, and West India will see a gradual increase in temperatures, while certain sections of the country, particularly Rajasthan, Gujarat, and parts of South and Central Indian states, may experience extreme heat and severe heat wave conditions.
Furthermore, regions will see hot and humid weather, such as Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. For the past 24 hours Delhi NCR experienced a slight fall in maximum temperatures and subsequently, a rise in minimum temperatures. Clear weather and moderate winds prevailed over the region. The IMD forecasts clearer weather within the next week across the area as well.
Temperature Forecast
1. Gradual Rise in maximum temperatures by 3-5°C likely over Northwest India during next 5-6 days during 13-18 April.
2. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Central India during next 24 hours and gradual rise by 2-4°C during 14th-19th April.
3. Rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4°C likely over West India during next 5 days and no significant change thereafter during subsequent 2 days.
4. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over rest parts of the country.
Heat Wave, Warm Night And Hot & Humid weather warning
1. Heat wave conditions are very likely at isolated/some places over West Rajasthan on 14th & 15th with severe heat wave conditions at many parts during 16th-18th and at isolated pockets on 19th April.
2. Heat wave conditions are very likely at isolated places over north Tamil Nadu on 13th; Telangana on 13th & 14th; West Madhya Pradesh during 15th-19th; Gujarat state from 15th-17th; Punjab, Haryana during 16th-18th April and over East Rajasthan during 16th-19th April.
3. Hot & humid weather is likely to prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 13th; Gujarat State during 15th-17th April.
Past Weather In Delhi NCR
There has been a rise in minimum temperature up to 02°C and slight fall in maximum temperature over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 34 to 35 °C and 19 to 21 °C respectively. The minimum temperature was near normal and maximum temperature was below normal up to 02°C at most places.
Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the southeast/east direction with wind speeds less than 10 to 14 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours. Mainly clear sky conditions with wind speed less than 08 kmph from the southeast direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.
