Initial reports indicate that the adverse weather conditions may have resulted in tragic incidents in Doda, where some individuals are feared to have lost their lives due to the swollen river. Authorities are currently investigating the situation to ascertain full details of the incidents.

In response to the rising water levels, the Baglihar and Salal dams have begun overflowing, necessitating the opening of their gates to release excess water and mitigate potential flooding risks downstream.

In the Kargil district of Ladakh, a flash flood and landslide were reported in the Stakpa area. Fortunately, local authorities confirmed that the incident did not result in any major damages or injuries, although residents remain on alert.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted continued rainfall for the next 24 hours across the Jammu division. In light of this, people are urged to exercise caution and avoid water bodies, which are currently flowing above normal levels.

Additionally, heavy rains have also affected parts of Srinagar, particularly in the Soura area, where multiple homes experienced water seepage, damaging ground floors and causing significant inconvenience to families.
