Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivkumar on Monday said that it is his birthday today, and he will meet his family members and then leave for Delhi.

Shivkumar said, “We’ve 135 MLAs, all in one voice said-matter (to appoint CM) is to be left to the party high command. My aim was to deliver Karnataka and I did it”.

Talking to reporters, he said that a single man with courage could become a majority. 

“I am a single man, I believe in one thing that a single man with courage becomes a majority…When all our MLAs left the party (2019 JD(S)-Cong coalition govt), I did not lose my heart,” said DK Shivkumar. 

Earlier today, senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday arrived in Delhi to meet the top leadership of the party. 

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and top party delegation engage in the process of picking the next CM of Karnataka.
