Navankur Chaudhary, also known as Yatri Doctor, a doctor-turned-YouTuber, has denied accusations of being a Pakistani spy. He came under social media scrutiny after the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra, and his photo with her went viral. Notably, the Haryana Police arrested Jyoti on suspicion of spying for Pakistan on Sunday. It is alleged that she had met a Pakistani officer, Ahsan-ur-Rahim, in Delhi, travelled to Pakistan twice, and shared sensitive information. As Jyoti’s arrest came to light, users resurfaced old videos of Chaudhary, which included videos of him at a party at the Pakistan High Commission, and a clip that allegedly displayed the wrong map of India.
Chaudhary has now broken his silence in an Instagram video. He has rejected the accusations of being a spy and addressed the false narrative surrounding his connection with Jyoti. He clarified that no case has been registered against him, but added that if he is called for investigation in the future, he will fully cooperate with the agencies.
Here’s what he said:
On His Pakistan Visit
On the uproar over his visit to Pakistan, Chaudhary clarified that he has visited Pakistan only once and not 31 times as the media reports claim. He stated that he comes from a family who has served in the Indian Army since 1989, adding that there is no bigger proof of his patriotism than this. “Bhai main Pakistan sirf ek baar gaya hun,” he asserted.
Why He Visited Pakistan?
Responding to the question, why he visited Pakistan? Chaudhary said that it was part of his plan to visit all 197 countries. He highlighted that he has been to 144 countries so far, and before visiting Pakistan, he had already travelled to 135 or 137 countries.
Incorrect Map Of India And Boycott Turkey Controversy
Addressing the controversy over the incorrect map of India, Chaudhary said he shared Insta story to depict how tech giants like Google and Apple were displaying an inaccurate map of India. His intention was to call for legal action to be taken against them.
Clearing the air on “Boycott Turkey”, he stated that once this initiative came, he searched for the name of countries supplying weapons to Pakistan, that nurtures terrorism. He then shared the list with his followers so that everyone boycotts all 25 or 26 countries and not just the one.
Links To Jyoti Malhotra
On his relation with Jyoti, Chaudhary admitted that he knows her but only as a fan. He revealed that Jyoti had met him claiming to be his fan and clicked photograph. “I treated her like a fan. I can’t look inside a person to see what they are,” he said.
“Before that day, I did not know Jyoti personally. We had never met before. We only spoke for a bit about YouTube that day,” added Chaudhary.
Pakistan High Commission
Regarding his presence at the Pakistan High Commission’s Party, he explained that he was invited there as part of the routine practice, where the commission invites every YouTuber who visits the country.
