IMD Weather Update: Rainfall Alert For Tamil Nadu, Kerala As Cyclone Fengal Approaches; Fog Warning In Northern States

Dense fog conditions is likely to prevail during late night/early morning hours in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Bihar till 30th November and Uttar Pradesh till 2nd December morning hours.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema today. Whereas, heavy rainfall is expected over Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka. IMD further warned that the deep depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal is likely to move north westwards and cross north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram around morning of 30th November.

IMD Weather Update: Forecast And Warnings

IMD has forecasted light to moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during till 2nd December; South Interior Karnataka during 29th November- 2nd December, Telangana, Kerala, Mahe and Rayalaseema during 30th November- 2nd December, Coastal and North Interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep on 1st and 2nd December.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall during the week.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted for north Tamil Nadu today.

Dense Fog Warning

Dense fog conditions is likely to prevail during late night/early morning hours in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Bihar till 30th November and Uttar Pradesh till 2nd December morning hours.

Temperature Conditions And Forecast

IMD said that no significant change in minimum temperature has been observed over most parts of the country during past 24 hours.

Forecast Of Temperature

IMD said that no large Change in minimum temperatures will occur over northwest, east India and Madhya Pradesh during next 5 days.

There will be gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-4°C over west & central India (except Madhya Pradesh) during next 5 days.

Fishermen Warning

IMD has issued warning for fishermen and advised them to not venture into: southwest Bay of Bengal adjoining areas of westcentral Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar, along and off Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Andhra Pradesh and East Sri Lanka coasts till 30th November evening.

Weather Forecast For Delhi-NCR

Delhi will have mainly clear sky with smog and moderate fog in the morning. Smog and shallow fog will continue in night also. Maximum and minimum temperature in Delhi will remain 26°C and 10°C respectively.

The air quality in Delhi continues to remain in ‘very poor’ category, as AQI was recorded at 332 at 6 am on Friday, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

AQI recorded from other parts: Bawana (434), Shadipur (398), Rohini (381), Jahangirpuri (384), Narela (383), Patparganj (352), Okhla Phase-2 (327), R K Puram (334), Anand Vihar (393), Ashok Vihar (357), Najafgarh (325), Punjabi Bagh (370), ITO (320).
