IMD Weather Update: Heavy rainfall and hailstorms lashed the isolated areas of Odisha over the past 24 hours. Multiple states are experiencing dynamic weather patterns due to western disturbances and troughs. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that some places will potentially experience heavier wet spells in the coming days.
Rain To Lash Multiple States
On 24th March, gusty winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph, accompanied by rain, thunderstorms & lightning will likely impact Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Telangana. Meanwhile, South Interior Karnataka will receive light showers from the 24th to 26th of March. Arunachal Pradesh continues to be the major highlight of the climate shift. The northeast state will witness heavy rain at isolated places on the 28th and 29th of March, 2025.

According to IMD, citizens must brace up as a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from tonight. Jammu and Kashmir and its neighbouring regions such as Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarbad may witness isolated to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall from 24th to 28th March. Wet spell conditions will also prevail over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next two to three days. IMD forecasts heavy rain over J&K on Wednesday, 26th March.
