Indore: In the remote village of Jaitpura in Katthiwada block, Alirajpur district, a heart-wrenching incident took place on Monday. A 40-year-old patient named Gup Singh was in urgent need of medical attention when his health deteriorated.

His worried relatives immediately called for an ambulance to take him to the nearest medical facility. However, their hopes of getting timely medical assistance were dashed when the ambulance got stuck on the kutcha road leading to the village.

Despite their best efforts, the ambulance remained immobilized, leaving the patient’s family and villagers in a state of distress. The situation became even more dire when a second ambulance was sent to the scene but also met the same fate and got stuck on the unpaved road.

With no immediate help in sight and the patient’s condition worsening, the villagers decided to take matters into their own hands to save Gup Singh’s life.

The villagers came together to find a solution. They quickly devised a plan to carry the patient to the ambulance on a temporary swing made from a wooden log and cloth.

With great determination, they carefully maneuvered the makeshift swing, carrying the patient for about five kilometers through the rugged terrain to reach the waiting ambulance.

The heart-rending images of this extraordinary effort by the villagers went viral on social media, highlighting the challenges faced by remote communities with inadequate infrastructure.

The incident shed light on the urgent need for better connectivity and all-weather motorable roads in such remote regions to ensure timely access to medical services during emergencies.

While the villagers’ collective effort and determination saved Gup Singh’s life that day, it also served as a poignant reminder of the hardships faced by marginalized communities in remote areas.
