Just two days ahead of the highly anticipated Amarnath Yatra, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha conducted a comprehensive review of the arrangements at the Baltal and Nunwan base camps. His visit to the Baltal base camp in Sonmarg today was part of a series of inspections aimed at ensuring a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience for devotees.
During his visit, LG Sinha emphasised the significant improvements made by the administration and the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for this year’s Yatra. He said that security agencies have been working in close coordination to guarantee the safety of pilgrims.
“After a high-level review meeting at Sonamarg, I can confidently say that this year’s preparations are much better than in previous years,” said LG Sinha. He acknowledged the diligent efforts of senior officers from various departments and security agencies, who were present during the meeting.
Sinha commended the robust security arrangements put in place by the forces, stating, “The security forces have established a strong setup, ensuring full coordination among all units involved.” His optimism for the upcoming pilgrimage was palpable as he expressed hope that devotees would have an even more successful experience than in prior years.
On Sunday, LG Sinha had inaugurated a newly constructed foot over bridge at the Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam, designed to facilitate smoother movement for pilgrims. This infrastructure enhancement is expected to significantly improve accessibility for those undertaking the sacred journey.
With the Amarnath Yatra set to commence on July 3, preparations are in full swing, and officials are confident that this year’s pilgrimage will be marked by enhanced safety and organization, allowing devotees from across the country to return with cherished memories of their spiritual experience.
