For the first time, Kangana Ranaut entered the political arena by contesting from Mandi. The BJP nominated the actress for the Mandi seat in her hometown of Himachal Pradesh. Upon receiving the ticket, Kangana energetically campaigned and made a robust debut in politics, securing victory by a margin of 74,755 votes. She faced competition from Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh on the Mandi seat.
