Kedarnath Yatra 2025: Step-By-Step Guide To Helicopter Booking, Fares And Key Info

If you’re planning the Kedarnath Yatra in 2025 and want a quick, comfortable journey to the temple, booking a helicopter is the most convenient option-especially for senior citizens, those with health concerns, or anyone short on time.

Kedarnath Yatra 2025 from Somprayag has been announced and it will begin on May 2, said operation executive Pawan Rana, while adding that tickets online can be bought through IRCTC. Offline tickets can be obtained with the District Magistrate or the Sector Magistrate. A total of 150 tickets are available online. Bookings can be done one month in advance.

Rana further said that there will be around 20 to 30 shuttles each day, and more than 150 pilgrims will be flying on a given day. If the weather is good, there will be 25-30 trips to Kedarnath, and if not the tickets will be cancelled.

Helicopter services started in Kedarnath Dham, Operation Executive Pawan Rana says, “The online tickets for the service are available on IRCTC and the offline tickets are available through DM or sector Magistrate. We operate around 20-30 shuttles per day, serving over 150 pilgrims… If the weather is favourable, 25-30 rounds are operable and if not, tickets are cancelled… Security is well taken care of. Passengers are briefed before the ride… Online bookings per day are 150 and advanced bookings are also in the process. The bookings are open for a month.” he said.

The Kedarnath Temple has been decorated with 13 quintals of flowers for welcoming devotees as Baba Kedarnath’s idol will be arriving at the Dham today, and the temple doors will opened on May 2 at 7 AM for devotees.

At the opening ceremonies of the Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami bowed and paid prayers to Goddess Ganga and Goddess Yamuna at their temples and did special poojas there.

How To Book Helicopter For Kedarnath 2025

Online helicopter services for Kedarnath Dham Yatra 2025 will be available on Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website. Passengers will only be able to book helicopter tickets if he/she has registered for Char Dham Yatra 2025.

1. To register for IRCTC Heli Yatra, please visit the official portal i.e. heliyatra.irctc.co.in and click on sign-up option. Enter your name, phone number, email ID, and complete the sign-up form to create your account which will enable you to book services.

2. After signing in to the IRCTC Heli Yatra portal, you will need to enter the details of your Yatra registration. If booking individually, you need to provide your Char Dham Registration Number and for group booking, provide Group ID.

3. Choose your travel details on the portal. Select your preferred travel date, departure helipad, Guptkashi, Phata, or Sersi, and the aviation company; all choices should follow your Yatra plans and convenience.

4. Enter all other passenger details on the portal. For individual bookings, up to 6 passenger details can be entered per ID. For larger groups, passenger details for up to 12 can be entered. Ensure accurate fields, as this will ensure a smooth booking process.

5. After entering all details, proceed to payment options on the portal. After successful payment, your confirmed ticket will be downloadable. Keep a copy for travel.

Helicopter Ticket Prices For Kedarnath Dham Yatra

For people travelling to Shri Kedarnath from Guptkashi, there are two claims to choose from, Aryan Aviation and Trans Bharat Aviations which are at the cost of Rs 8532.

For Phata to Shri Kedarnath, you have Pawan Hans, Thumby Aviation, Global Vectra Helicorp, and Trans Bharat Aviations which are all at the cost of Rs 6062.

For Sirsi to Shri Kedarnath, there are Himalayan Heli Services, Kestrel Aviation, and Arrow Aircraft which are all at the cost of Rs 6060.

Pawan Hans is also opening a new route from Govindghat to Ghangaria, soon.

Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority has signed a 3 year pilot agreement with nine aviation companies to provide helicopter service. The companies to provide helicopter service are Pawan Hans, Himalayan Heli, Trans Bharat, Arrow Aviation, Thumby Aviation, Castle Aviation, and Aero Air.
