Maihar: Bulldozer raze houses of duo accused of raping, brutalising 12-year-old girl

Maihar: Madhya Pradesh’s local administration on Saturday informed that the houses of the two people who were accused of sexually assaulting and brutalising a 12-year-old girl in Maihar district, were demolished.

Police said that the two accused identified as Ravindra Kumar and Atul Bhadoliya, alleged raped the girl, bit her, and also inserted a hard object in her private parts on Thursday.

“However, the information can only be furthered confirmed after her medical examination report is received,” a senior police official said.

As per the sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Lokesh Dabar, after the incident, Maihar Municipal Council chief on Friday issued notices to families of the accused seeking the documents related to the land and buildings.

“During the probe, it came to our attention that the houses of the two accussed were illegal as Bhadoliya’s house was constructed on government land used for non-agricultural purposes, while Kumar’s house was built without permission,” Dabar said.

“After the revelation both the houses of the accused were demolished this morning,” Dabar stated.

Two men, who were employed by the trust managing a famous temple in Maihar town, have been accused of luring a 12-year-old girl to an isolated place and raping her.

The girl was found profusely bleeding and with bite marks on her body. She was admitted to a hospital in Rewa for advanced medical care.

The Superintendent of Police confirmed the incident and stated that the survivor’s condition is being closely monitored by a team of doctors.

The accused have been remanded to 14-day judicial custody and booked under the IPC and POCSO Act. The temple trust promptly terminated their employment following the registration of the criminal case.
