Ajanta Caves: A man posing for selfie near view point waterfall at Ajanta Caves lost his balance and slipped in the Saptkund on Sunday afternoon. The Police and the employees of the Archaeological Survey of India launched a rescue operation and get the man out of the 2,000 feet deep waterfall.

Gopal Pundlik, 30, is the resident of Nanda Tanda, Soyegaon tehsil. He went to Ajanta Caves with his four friends. In an attempt to click the perfect selfie with the serene beauty of waterfall, he lost his balance and slipped into the 2,000 feet deep Saptkund. He had a narrow escape as he knew swimming. While flowing in the Kunad he held the stone and saved himself. He friends immediately informed about the incident to the ASI employees and the police.

Police immediatly launched a rescue operation. API Bharat More, Police employees Yogesh Koli, Vinod Koli, Nilesh Lokhande, ASI staffs Bharat Kakde, Satosh Damodar, Salim Shah, Shaikh Raees and others were the part of rescue operation and put their best to save the man. After the hard effort of nearly 1 hours, they succeded to take out the man from the Saptkund.

The waterfall at Ajanta Caves is flowing heavily due to heavy rains in the past few days. the beauty is at its full charm during rainy season. The tourists are thronging the cave area to enjoy the exotic beauty of nature. They often click selfie at the tip of the mountain from where the waterfall starts. They violate the safety norms and don’t pay heed to the instruction of security guards.
