PAMRA (Peace Accord MNF Returnees’ Association) issued a statement cautioning Meities about the potential threat to their lives in response to the sexual violence against the two women who were paraded naked (manipur women parade) in Kangpokpi district of Manipur.

“In anticipation of possible development of tension which could threaten the security of Meiteis living in Aizawl, due to the public outrage against the recent viral video of two tribal Kuki – Zo brutally assaulted in Manipur. Security arrangements are made in order to ensure the safety of Meitei in Aizawl,” read the letter.

Three months passed by and a video emerged showing at least a thousand men carrying out a procession after forcibly strepping two women naked. The women belonged to the Kuki-Zo community. The incident was from Kangpokpi district in the state.
