In a shocking incident, a farmer and his wife were attacked by five men in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit. The incident took place on January 17. The goons barged into the farmer’s house at night and started thrashing the couple.
The woman was allegedly stripped by the goons when she tried to save her husband. The men had an old enmity with the farmer. The couple approached the local police station to complain about the five men. However, the police allegedly refused to register the case and booked a case against the couple for “offering a bribe” to the police. The cops detained them for over 24 hours in the police station.
The farmer said the police did not want to register the case against the men. He alleged that they were not sent for a medical examination and they went for the medical test on their own. He claimed the medical reports suggested multiple injuries, and his CT report described a head injury.
He approached the court to get justice. The additional chief judicial magistrate in Pilibhit ordered them to file a case against the five men.
When a senior cop was asked about not registering the case earlier, he said a clash took place inside the house, and the couple lodged the case after the other side filed the case. He said the couple’s allegations were being probed.
The farmer alleged that the main accused belonged to the same village, and a case was filed against him for murder in the past.
