Strong surface winds with speeds reaching 40–50 kmph are very likely over South Peninsular India during the next 7 days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in many states of the country. The department says that the pace of monsoon may increase in different parts of the country in the coming days. Heavy rains are expected in North-West, Central, East and Northeast India especially for the next seven days.
Light to moderate rains may occur in many parts of North-West India throughout the week, which will often be accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong winds blowing at a speed of 30–40 kmph.
Heavy rains may occur in some areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha in East and Central India from July 1 to July 4, while heavy rains are expected in the Vidarbha region on July 1 and 2. Rains may intensify in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on June 28 and then between July 1 and 2.
Heavy rainfall is expected in Gangetic-West Bengal till July 1, while similar conditions may develop in Bihar between July 1 and 4.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations across Konkan & Goa, the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of the Gujarat region. Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely over Saurashtra and Kutch during the next 7 days.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely at most to many places over Northwest India during the next 7 days, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds reaching 30–40 kmph.

Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh from July 1st to 7th, and over Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, Jharkhand, and Odisha from July 1st to 5th. Very heavy rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh on July 2nd and again during July 5th to 7th; over Jharkhand on July 1st; and over Odisha from July 1st to 3rd.
