The Madhya Pradesh police arrested a man for allegedly killing a class 12 girl student in the district hospital premises in Narsinghpur. The incident reportedly took place on June 27.
Accused slit the throat of the victim
According to a Times of India report, the accused has been identified as Abhishek Koshti who slit the throat of the victim, Sandhya Chaudhary.
Abhishek attacked her when she was seated outside the Trauma centre of the hospital. The attack occurred in the presence of hospital staff and patients, but no one dared to intervene.
Sandhya was visiting maternity ward patient
CCTV footage shows that Abhishek had a brief conversation with the victim and then he attacked and slit her throat with a knife. Sandhya had gone to attend to her known person who was admitted to the maternity ward.
‘Murder over jealousy’
Police arrested the accused within an hour of the incident. A senior police officer said that the accused had been known to her for the last two years. Abhishek had suspicions after seeing her with someone else and claimed that she was “cheating on him.”
Three killed as bus collides with truck in Raipur
In a separate incident, three persons, including a woman, were killed after a passenger bus collided with a truck in Raipur on Monday morning, police said.
The incident in which six persons were also injured took place on Raipur-Jagdalpur National Highway near village Kendri under Abhanpur Police station limits, police said.
In a similar development, at least four people lost their lives and five others sustained injuries in a powerful explosion at a firecracker factory in Chinnakamanpatti near Sivakasi on Tuesday, according to the Virudhunagar District Police. The injured have been admitted to the government hospital in Virudhunagar for treatment, officials said.
