NCERT Slashes Textbook Prices By 20% For Classes 9-12, Effective Next Academic Year

The National Council of Educational Research and Training prints approximately 4 to 5 crore textbooks every year in about 300 titles.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) made an announcement on Monday regarding the reduction of prices of textbooks for classes 9th-12th.

Dinesh Prasad Saklani, the Director of NCERT, mentioned these things during the Bhumi Pujan ceremony for the development of the auditorium at the headquarters of the National Council of Educational Research and Training, which was presided by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Textbook Prices Slashed By 20%

The National Council of Educational Research and Training has slashed the prices of books by 20%. The new prices will apply in the upcoming academic year. On the other hand textbooks for classes 1-8 will be available at Rs 65 per copy.

Partnership With E-Commerce Platforms

The NCERT has expanded their reach by doing partnership with e-commerce platforms, which include Amazon. By doing this they make authentic textbooks which are accessible in the country.

During the event, a MoU was signed between NCERT and Flipkart for the retailing of NERT textbooks on Flipkart.
