Travelers will experience higher expenses towards Delhi from April 1 as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) released a notification to raise toll rates. A toll increase ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 15 now applies to all vehicles including cars together with jeeps and vans at Gharaunda (Karnal) along with Ghaggar (Ambala) toll plazas. The fee for toll pass usage by heavy vehicles has increased by more than Rs 750 to reach Rs 1000 amount.
About Toll Rates
Starting from April 1 the single-side rate at Gharaunda toll will be Rs 195 and the double-side toll will be Rs 290. Car usage costs passengers Rs 185 will be spent on a single side journey and Rs 280 for the double side trip. The April 1 pricing for buses and trucks will raise the toll pass fee to Rs 21,750 from the present Rs 21,000. Residents living up to 20 km from the toll stations must expect their toll pass fees to rise by between Rs 5 and Rs 10. The Ghaggar toll station has raised its toll costs for cars and jeep-vans by Rs 5 and monthly passes by Rs 145 and the payment for buses and trucks stands at Rs 475 for the toll pass.
The toll expense for those traveling on the Varanasi-Gorakhpur NH-29 Expressway will increase starting April 1. Beginning March 31 at midnight the toll rates will rise by 5% above their present levels.
Several highways that cross Rohtak City have toll booths located at Makdauli and Madina. Starting from April 1 the toll booths will apply new rates to their toll system. Under the revised NHAI toll pricing scheme both car operators and bus operators along with truck owners will pay additional charges of Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively.
