Noida International Airport flight operations face ongoing changes regarding their start date. The airport planning called for flight departures to begin during April. The airport launch experienced two delays beginning with May before settling on June dates. The latest information suggests that the June start date has become doubtful. Insufficient progress in constructing the terminal building stands as the main reason behind the flight delays. Phase one will build six aerobridges while the project includes plans to construct ten aerobridges later. The operation of this airport is projected to begin in July because of the considerable delays experienced.
Aerodrome License Expected In June
The Chief Secretary conducted a review while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed concern which led to speeding up construction activities at the airport. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) previously planned to release the aerodrome license on May 15 for the purpose of starting commercial flight operations. However, this now seems unlikely. Sources forecast that the aerodrome license issuance will take place during the last week of June and subsequent flight services can start thereafter. Officials have chosen not to discuss the situation regarding the aerodrome license which they originally planned to issue by May but it does not seem to be happening.
Construction Of 10 Aerobridges
Dr. Arun Vir Singh from Yamuna Authority as the CEO described aerobridges as airport terminals which connect aircraft to passengers through sheltered walkways for easy boarding and deboarding. The first phase requires six aerobridge installations among a total planned project of ten. The fast progress on terminal construction will include installation of six aerobridges as the main initial infrastructure to move passengers between terminal and aircraft.
The domestic terminal approaches its finishing date whereas international terminal construction experiences delay.
Constructors have finished most of the domestic terminal while focusing their efforts on building entrances. There will be an additional three months before finishing the international terminal. The completion delays for both mold work and finishing applications make it improbable for international flight services to begin operations on opening day. At the airport only domestic flights together with cargo operations will become available for now. Installation of the six aerobridges must be done before entering a commercial flight service. The Chief Secretary has scheduled to inspect airport development progress before the end of this current month.
Rs 1 Crore Demanded For Airport Police Station
Noida International Airport will receive its police station in a planned area that covers approximately 1,000 square meters of territory. The Headquarters Additional Director General of Police asked to receive this land property without any payment. Yamuna International Airport Limited operates the airport project and refuses to release the land without charging ₹1 crore. The designated area will serve dual purposes by establishing the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) headquarters for the airport.
Police Outposts In Ranhera And Banwaribas Villages
Through his letter the Principal Secretary (Home) now seeks formal directions. The March 21 document sent by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) deals directly with this subject. The police station will have two police outposts near the airport region. The officials from Yamuna International Airport Limited allowed the construction of these outposts through their offering of land parcels in Ranhera and Banwaribas villages.
