There are several expressway projects planned to improve connectivity in India. One such project is the Pune-Bengaluru Expressway. This expressway was planned to reduce the travel time from 18 hours to 6 hours. The cost of this project is Rs 40,000 crore. This will boost connectivity between Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Pune-Bengaluru Expressway
The length of this expressway is approximately 700 km. This is a greenfield project. It will feature two emergency airstrips, 55 flyovers, and 22 interchanges. Designed for high-speed travel, it will permit vehicles to reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. According to a report by Pune Pulse, the expressway is set to cut the travel distance between Pune and Bengaluru by roughly 95 kilometers, enabling journeys between the two IT cities in just 4 to 6 hours.
The route starts from Kanjale on Pune Ring Road and crosses around 12 districts in Maharashtra and Karnataka. It will pass through the following districts-Koppal, Gadag, Bagalkot, Belagavi, Satara, Sangli, Pune, Vijayanagar, Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Tumakuru.
It will make the journey smoother. The project will save the time of commuters and will solve the traffic-related issues.
