Various development works are underway in the Delhi-NCR and its neighboring areas. One such project is the widening of the Shahberi route. According to media reports, the expansion of this route will begin on March 25. The work will be completed in 20 days. The 3-km route, which connects Greater Noida and Ghaziabad will be widened. It will be stretched 1.5 meters from both sides.
The route begins at Eteda roundabout in Greater Noida. The Shahberi route is currently 3 meters wide and experiences traffic issues, especially during office hours. Once the Noida Airport becomes operational, the traffic is likely to increase in the area. The authorities will proceed with expanding the road to address this issue. A large number of vehicles operate on this route each day triggering frequent traffic congestion. Project developers expect to widen the road facilities to achieve enhanced traffic movement efficiency. The Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) has prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the under-construction elevated road. The road expansion in Shahberi will accelerate construction activities at the underpass situated near Char Murti Roundabout. Apart from implementing route diversions construction will be accelerated by using Shahberi Road as an alternative route as builders work to finish widening it quickly.
About Diversion
The road widening will divert Shahberi Road for 20 days beginning on March 25. The 130-meter portion of Gaur Chowk and Tikari Roundabout represents the essential route for cars and other vehicles moving from Eteda Roundabout through Shahberi toward Ghaziabad destinations. Drivers arriving at Ghaziabad from Tilpata should make a right turn from Ek Murti Roundabout to access Roza Chowka, Chaprola Railway Crossing, and finally Lal Kuan. Cars from NH-24 crossing through ABES, Ghaziabad should take Vijaynagar Bypass Road through the 130-meter road alongside Tikari Roundabout and Gaur Chowk as an alternative to Shahberi Road during the diversion period.
