New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday extended the interim bail of congress leader Pawan Khera till March 3 in a case related to alleged objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Modi.

The Assam police arrested him last week from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi while he was boarding a flight to Raipur.

A three-bench constitutional bench headed by The Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud decided for Solicitor General Tushar Mehta’s submission, that the Assam Police wanted to file its reply.

Advocate Garima Prasad, appearing for Uttar Pradesh Government, also appealed to file a response in the matter. 

Mr. Khera was arrested by Assam police at Delhi Airport after being deplaned from Raipur-bound flight in connection with his alleged remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Khera was later granted bail by a Magisterial court in Delhi.
