Tamil Nadu: In a horrific and shocking incident, a pregnant woman was reportedly pushed out of a moving train by a man who sexually assaulted her. The incident occurred Thursday night in Coimbatore-Tirupati Intercity Express near Vellore. According to the Jolarpet railway police, the woman who hailed from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh was in her fourth month of pregnancy.
How Did The Shocking Incident Unfold?
When the train stopped at the Jolarpet railway station, a man boarded the lady’s compartment. Upon finding the victim seated alone on the train, he approached and molested her. She, however, resisted his attempts and rushed towards the toilet but was later caught by the accused who pushed her off the speeding train.
Woman Sustains Fractures
According to reports, the woman has suffered injuries and fractures in her upper as well as lower limbs. She was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Vellore later. A case was registered against the molester, identified as Hemaraj, by the Jolarpet Police.
Police Nabs Molester With The Help Of CCTV
He was tracked down from KV Kuppam with the help of CCTV footage. Police have arrested him and an inquiry is underway. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was out on bail after being booked for murdering a Chennai woman. Additionally, many cases are still pending against him.
