A government school teacher has been suspended in Telangana’s Vikarabad district after she brought an animal brain to explain anatomy in the classroom on June 24. The police have registered a case against the teacher.
Police: Animal species is yet to be ascertained
According to PTI, a few students claimed the teacher told them it was a crow’s brian. However, the police officials said the animal species is yet to be ascertained.
The police registered the case under the Cow Slaughter Act against the teacher who brought the brain to show the students of class X.
ABVP activists staged protest
Activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest against the incident, accusing the teacher of “hurting religious sentiments”. Following the complaint, the education officials suspended the teacher.
Kerala: 3 migrant workers dead after building collapses in Thrissur
In a separate incident, Kerala’s Minister of Public Education and Employment V Sivankutty has directed the Labour Commissioner to conduct a detailed investigation and submit a report after three migrant workers from West Bengal died on Friday due to a building collapse near Kodakara area in Thrissur district.
According to officials, the building housed 17 people at the time of the incident, and the deceased have been identified as Rubal, Rahul and Alim.
Fire officials are engaged in rescue efforts along with locals helping to take out the bodies from the debris. Notably, two bodies have been recovered, and efforts are underway to recover the third one.
