Traffic diversion has been implemented at many roundabouts on the 130-meter road of Greater Noida West. Under this, U-turns have been made on both sides of the roundabout to guide vehicles. The roundabouts have been closed with temporary barriers, which are currently installed only temporarily. Greater Noida Authority says that after the Kavad Yatra, permanent barriers will be installed on these roundabouts, which will end the problem of jams.
A temporary barrier has been made at the Ek Murti roundabout of Greater Noida West by connecting Noida Police barriers and other iron grills with ropes. However, passersby often open these barriers, due to which two-wheelers and e-rickshaws start passing through there. This affects the diversion plan, and again, the problem of jam arises.
Diversion Is Implemented From Both Sides
Greater Noida Authority has implemented traffic diversion from both sides of the roundabout. A part of the Iteda roundabout has been closed with broken street light poles, big stones, and iron barriers. People will get relief from the problem of jams due to the installation of permanent barriers. At present, the jam has reduced to some extent due to temporary barriers, but due to the absence of permanent barriers, the diversion is not fully effective.
Complaint Lodged on The Chief Minister’s Portal
Manish Kumar, a resident of Greater Noida West, had complained on the Chief Minister’s portal and demanded to end the jam by installing permanent barriers on the roundabouts. On this, Senior Manager of Greater Noida Authority, Narottam Singh, said that because of the Kavad Yatra, temporary barriers have been installed so that the traffic can run smoothly. After the Kavad Yatra, the installation of permanent barriers will be considered.
