Rajasthan Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Saturday attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for not deciding the CM face to date saying that the there is no discipline in the party.

Ashok Gehlot, Congress leader and caretaker CM of Rajasthan, remarks on the BJP’s delayed selection of a CM, stating, “Had Congress delayed this long, the BJP would have strongly protested. In the Gogamedi case, I had to authorize the NIA probe. This responsibility now falls under the new CM. It’s been 7 days, and they (BJP) haven’t chosen a CM yet. I urge them to expedite the decision-making process.”
He comments on the delayed announcement of CM candidates by the BJP, stating, “For almost a week, they (BJP) haven’t named CM candidates in the three states. The lack of discipline in their party is evident. Had we taken a similar stance, I dread to think of the allegations they would have made against us, misleading the public. They resorted to polarization during the polls… We are ready to cooperate with the new government.”
However, the recent assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan showcased a remarkable victory for the BJP in the Hindi heartland, defying earlier poll predictions and leaving political rivals surprised. This sweeping triumph dealt a significant setback to the Congress, dampening their prospects for a strong regional presence leading up to the 2024 elections.
In Rajasthan, the actual results defied expectations, with the BJP clinching 115 seats, surpassing the Congress, which secured 69 seats. Chhattisgarh witnessed a similar trend, where out of the 90 assembly constituencies, the BJP emerged victorious in 54, significantly outperforming the Congress, which managed to secure 35 seats. This marked a substantial win for the BJP, considering the prolonged incumbency they faced in the state.
