Commuters using the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will now have to pay 25% more toll than on national highways. If someone is travelling in their private car from Lucknow to Kanpur or from Kanpur to Lucknow, they will be paying Rs 125 as the new toll rate, as reported by Jagran.
Currently, they pay Rs 100 as the toll rate for a single journey. The National Highway Authority of India will start collecting this amount from the day the expressway becomes operational, as reported by Jagran.
According to the NHAI official, the work on the expressway will get completed by July 31, but the grace period is till October 31. Currently, work on the elevated route has been completed more than 90% and the greenfield work has been completed around 94%.
As per reports, three flyovers are being constructed on the expressway. As per officials, a proposal for 5 toll booths has been made to be installed within a 63 km area.
The toll booth is proposed to be constructed at Miranpur Pinwat, Khandedev, Bani, Amarsas, and Azad Nagar.
