In a sad event, a 40-year-old man died, possibly by suicide, after posting a video accusing a CISF woman officer, who was his girlfriend, of taking advantage of him and hiding her marriage in Mangaluru, Karnataka.
The man who died was Abhishek Singh, from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. He was found hanging in a lodge in Mangaluru. Singh, who worked for a private company in Chennai, had come to Mangaluru with his colleagues to attend an exhibition.
Abhishek Singh posted a 20-minute video on Instagram and Facebook before taking this extreme step. He accusing the woman of tricking him. Reports say that Abhishek claimed she hid her marriage status and started a relationship with him. He also accused the CISF officer of taking advantage of him and causing him mental pain.
In the video, the man said, “I didn’t know she was married and had a child. She has put me in a situation where my life is now ruined.” He continued, “I fell into their trap badly, and now my life is destroyed. What’s the point of living anymore? She has brought it to the point where it’s over.” He then added, “Consider this my final message, she uses people, makes them pay for things, and takes advantage of them.”
The police said the woman officer works as an assistant commandant in the CISF.
In the video, the man claimed that the woman took advantage of him and took gold worth Rs 8 lakh from him. He also mentioned that she had similar relationships with other people.
Abhishek’s brother filed a complaint against the CISF officer, saying that Abhishek was deeply hurt when he found out the truth about the woman, according to India Today.
“As per the complaint filed by his brother, Abhishek Singh was in a relationship with Monika Sihag. On March 1, at around 11.30 am, Abhishek informed his brother that Monika had refused to marry him, revealing that she was already married and had a child,” police said in a statement.
The Karnataka Police have filed a case for abetment of suicide under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and started an investigation.
