A Kaushambi-based man, with the help of his two friends, allegedly killed his uncle, who prevented him from meeting his wife’s sister, with whom he had fallen in love, police said, adding the prime suspect and his friends were arrested.
Police said the suspect, Akash Prajapati, had fallen in love with his uncle Mahendra Prajapati’s wife’s sister.
When Mahendra came to know that he loves his wife’s sister, he threatened him with dire consequences and asked him to stay away. Enraged over Mahendra’s threat and behaviour, he joined two of his friends, identified as Rohit and Vijay, to his plan and called his uncle to meet.
They allegedly offered Mahendra liquor, and as he was in an inebriated condition, he picked up a brick and hit it on his head. Later, they left the body under a tree and fled the spot.
A day later, on Friday, when Mahendra’s call went unanswered, his family members contacted police, and Akash was traced as family members revealed that Mahendra and Akash left home together.
Police said during the investigation Akash confessed to killing Mahendra, and his bloodstains were also found on his clothes. A case of murder was registered, and all three suspects were arrested.
