The Ghaziabad Police said a teenage girl’s body was found in Masuri Ganga Canal on April 21. The girl’s body was stuffed inside a plastic bag. The locals alerted the police after spotting the bag stuck in the bushes.
There was no mark of external injury: Police
According to PTI, a senior police official said that there was no mark of external injury on the girl’s body. The girl was wearing jeans and a top. It seems the deceased age was between 16-17 years, he said.
Deceased has yet to be identified
Based on the girl’s decomposed body, the police suspect that she was murdered two or three days before. The police officials are of the view that the body was either dumped from a train or a vehicle. The deceased has yet to be identified.
Boy sent for postmortem
The police have sent the body for postmortem, which will take place after 36 hours. If the body is not claimed by anyone, the cremation will be held as per official norms, the police said.
A senior police officer said a probe has been launched to establish the circumstances leading to the offence.
18-year-old stabbed in Delhi
Two recent stabbing incidents in Delhi have raised concerns about safety in the city. On April 21, an 18-year-old boy named Krishna was stabbed in Yamuna Vihar’s Bhajanpura Police Station area.
According to the Delhi Police, the initial probe suggests that the victim and the accused are known to each other.
FSL team reached the spot
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team reached the spot and is investigating the matter.
“A boy, namely Krishna, aged about 18 years, was stabbed in Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar area under PS Bhajanpura limits. critically injured and admitted to the Hospital. The initial probe reveals that the accused are known to each other. A team of FSL reached the spot and is investigating the matter”, Delhi Police said in their statement.
