The Varanasi Police registered a case against a dean of a school after a female teacher accused him of pressurising sexual favours. The police have launched a probe into the matter.
Teacher alleged dean snatched phone
According to PTI, the female teacher stated in her complaint that she was on her phone in an empty classroom when the dean entered and snatched her mobile phone. She alleged that he asked her to visit his flat at night.
Teacher: Dean targeted others who refused advances
The school management expelled the teacher without giving any prior notice. The teacher claimed that the indecent act was recorded in CCTV cameras. She also alleged that the dean had pressured other teachers to form physical relations, and they lost their jobs after they refused his advances.
Wanted criminal injured in encounter in Jhansi
In a separate incident, Wanted criminal Bhupendra Gwalah got injured in an encounter with Jhansi Police. He was shot at by police in an attempt to capture him.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rural Jhansi, Arvind Kumar, said, “He (criminal) was spotted on a motorcycle when the Moth police were conducting a check. As he saw the police, he fired at the police and ran towards the jungle.”
There is also a case of theft against Gwalah
The SP added that on investigation, the police got to know that Gwalah is a wanted criminal and there is also a case of theft against him at the Moth police station.
“The encounter was conducted by the SSP, Moth station and SWAT,” SP Arvind Kumar told the media.
The police have recovered the stolen battery, a suspicious motorcycle without a number plate and a pistol along with cartridges from him. SP Kumar informed the media that the criminal had a Rs 25,000 award against him. He added, “The interrogation and investigation of cases against him are going on.”
