To address potential health concerns, health experts anticipate conditions like respiratory ailments due to the lack of ventilation during the 11-day confinement and a deficit of Vitamin D owing to minimal sunlight exposure.

To monitor the workers’ health, a team of 15 doctors has been mobilized. Dr. Vinita Shah, Director-General of the health department, personally visited the site, emphasizing the continuous presence of health workers until the rescue mission concludes.

Besides, after enduring an 11-day ordeal sustained by popcorn, dry fruits, and puffed rice, the workers received a nourishing meal comprising fresh fruits, vegetarian pulao, roti, and sabzi. This lifeline was ingeniously delivered through a six-inch supply pipe inserted amidst the rubble, providing much-needed sustenance after earlier attempts to send hot khichdi were thwarted due to pipeline blockage.

Anshu Manish Khalkho, Director of NHIDCL, detailed the ongoing supply of food and medicines through a secondary service pipeline, ensuring essential provisions like dal, rice, daliya, dry fruits, and medications were delivered.

Additionally, the trapped workers received crucial supplies including fresh underclothes, T-shirts, towels, soaps, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Communication improvements via wire connectivity have enhanced interaction between the workers and rescue teams, offering vital reassurance during this challenging time.
