Varanasi Gang Rape: The recent case of gang rape of a 19-year-old girl in Varanasi by 23 men over 7 days has not just shook the city but the entire nation as well. It has now reportedly pulled the lid off a big sex racket spanning multiple states. According to Dainik Bhaskar’s report, investigations into the case have revealed a disturbing development that involved the exploitation of multiple girls. Earlier, 9 individuals were arrested in connection to the case. Now, the 12 arrested people are alleged to be a part of a wider criminal operation.
Objectionable Content Shared Across 6 States
Reports stated that the nude videos of 546 girls were found on the mobile phones of these arrested individuals. They shared them across various other locations – Maharashtra, Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu (including Uttar Pradesh). Police recovered some customer data from one of the accused’s iPhones. Uttar Pradesh’s Cafe owner, Anmol Gupta, the mastermind of the sex racket, has kept objectionable pictures and videos of girls in his phone.
Critical Evidence Discovered
It is believed that he used to send these videos to his customers. After police connected the dots, what was disclosed left everyone horrified. Gupta, a resident of Mirpur Bashi passed the nude videos to the newly joined boys in his racket. Additionally, a data sheet was also found in the mobile phones, which showed the names and numbers of the regular customers who used to visit the cafe occasionally. In the Varanasi gang rape case, till now 12 out of 23 have been identified. They are reported as drug addicts.
Amol Gupta, Master Mind Of Varanasi Ganp Rape Case
Anmol Gupta used to run a fast food stall in the Sigra police station area in 2018. According to reports, he rented a small shop near Sonia Pokhare in 2020. From this location, he stepped into an illegal business related to drugs and trafficking of girls. Soon after, under the guise of running a cafe, he operated a sex racket. He initially drugged young girls, later raped or get them raped and made videos to blackmail and sell.
Details Of The Case
Sharing shocking details, the Varanasi rape victim’s father said that she had left home on March 29 to meet a friend. They tried to find her when she didn’t turn up after a while. Following this, they reported her missing at the police station on April 3. Police found her in a severely distressed state the next day. After receiving medical treatment and regaining some stability, she disclosed the horrific details – raped by 23 men over seven days.
PM Modi Orders Strictest Action
Immediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Varanasi on Friday ahead of launching several development projects, he was briefed about the gangrape. He ordered the strictest possible action against those involved and directed the officials to implement appropriate measures.
