‘When Terrorists Shot Your Mother,’ Asaduddin Owaisi Slams Bilawal Bhutto’s ‘Blood Will Flow’ Threat Over Indus Treaty Suspension

In 1979, military dictator General Zia-ul-Haq arrested and executed Bilawal’s grandfather, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was also a former President of Pakistan, over a controversial murder case. Many people criticised the trial, saying it was unfair and did not follow proper legal steps. Even the Supreme Court admitted this in March last year.

Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi sharply criticised Pakistani politician Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s threatening remarks over the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. Owaisi questioned Bilawal’s aggressive and violent language, highlighting how extreme it was, and reminded him that terrorists had brutally assassinated his mother, underlining the painful reality behind such threats. While speaking to reporters on Monday in Maharashtra, reporters asked Owaisi about Bilawal Bhutto’s recent statement regarding India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan.

What Bilawal Said

“The Indus is ours and will remain ours — either our water will flow through it, or their blood,” he said. His remarks came after India suspended the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 and immediately shut down of the Attari land-transit post in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which took place on April 22. Moreover, during the rally, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader also claimed that India was wrongly blaming Pakistan for the terror attack.

‘Bachpane Ki Baatein Nahi Karna’- Let’s not engage in childish commentary

Additionally, Owaisi urged Bhutto to exercise caution in his statements. “Let’s not engage in childish commentary. Does he not remember what happened to his grandfather? Owaisi said, “Does he not remember how terrorists killed his mother?” referring to former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who died in a suicide bombing in 2007.

Comments On Benazir Bhutto

“His mother was killed by terrorists; hence, he shouldn’t be making such statements. Does he have any idea about who he is talking to and what he is saying?” the Hyderabad MP added. “Unless the US gives you something, you cannot run your country, and you are trying to stare us down,” Owaisi added.

Bilawal’s mother, Benazir Bhutto, who was the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan, was killed at the age of 54 in Rawalpindi on December 27, 2007. Extremist groups in Pakistan were against her liberal policies and opposed her.
