Haridwar, July 6: In a historic event that marked a significant milestone in the fusion of ancient Ayurvedic wisdom and modern science, Patanjali unveiled its new product Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling. The grand launch took place in the divine presence of Yog Rishi Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, with key representatives of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Uttarakhand Chapter.
The product is based on the ancient Gandush technique mentioned in classical Ayurvedic texts and is considered an integral part of daily routine or Dinacharya in Ayurveda. The event witnessed the ceremonial inauguration by Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj, Acharya Balkrishna Ji Maharaj, Dr. Rajeev Bansal (President, IDA Uttarakhand), Dr. Vishwajeet Walia (Secretary), and Dr. Vaibhav Pahwa (Treasurer).

Speaking on the occasion, Swami Ramdev said, “Patanjali is not merely offering a treatment but is presenting to the world a harmonious blend of culture, tradition, and science. This effort is a new milestone in the realm of yoga and Ayurveda. People have forgotten how to operate and cooperate with their bodies. Patanjali is teaching the masses to reconnect with themselves through yoga and Ayurveda. This dental product reaffirms the timeless relevance of India’s ancient Sanatan knowledge.”
Acharya Balkrishna stated that Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling is a result of three years of dedicated research by scientists at the Patanjali Research Institute. “This product is not just a daily ritual but a medical science relevant to today’s needs,” he said. He explained that Ayurvedic classics like Charak Samhita and Sushruta Samhita describe Gandush as a key practice for oral health.
Detailing the formulation, Acharya Balkrishna shared that the product contains:
Tumburu Oil, which strengthens teeth and gums.
Clove Oil, known for its pain-relieving propertie.
Peppermint Oil, which eliminates bad breath.
Eucalyptus Oil, rich in antibacterial properties that inhibit bacterial growth.
Tulsi Oil, which protects teeth from decay and infections due to its antimicrobial nature.
He further emphasized that Patanjali is committed to making a complete range of evidence-based dental products accessible to the public, with the aim of restoring Ayurveda’s golden glory.
Dr. Vishwajeet Walia, Secretary of IDA Uttarakhand, praised the work of Patanjali Research Foundation and remarked, “Swami Ji and Acharya Ji have rendered an extraordinary service to public health through yoga and Ayurveda. This research- and evidence-backed Ayurvedic medicine will prove highly beneficial in treating pyorrhea and various oral diseases.”
The ceremony was also graced by several prominent figures including Dr. Rajeev Bansal (President, IDA Uttarakhand), Dr. Vaibhav Pahwa (Treasurer), Dr. Kuldeep Singh (Head of Dental Department, Patanjali Hospital & Secretary, IDA Haridwar), Dr. Anurag Varshney (Vice President and Chief Scientist, Patanjali Research Institute), Dr. Gurpreet Oberoi (Treasurer, IDA Haridwar), along with many renowned dental practitioners from across Uttarakhand.
All attending dental professionals commended the product as a timely and scientifically sound solution tailored to modern lifestyles.
Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling is not just a step towards better oral health but is also a testament to Patanjali’s mission of validating India’s Vedic knowledge through scientific means and establishing it on the global stage.
