In her video Anjali told that many people have raised this question whether can smoking result in hair loss. The answer is ‘yes’. She has further explained in her video that how can a cigarette actually impact in hair fall.

Nicotine acts as a barrier to nutrient supply

Anjali Mukherjee said that the nicotine present in cigarettes does not allow the body to absorb the nutrients from the food. It particularly hinders the absorption of minerals in the body. Hair need minerals, especially iron and zinc, to grow and stay healthy. Nicotine does not allow the nutrients to to be absorbed. This obstruct the nutrients from reaching the hair properly which results in hair fall.

Smoking obstructs blood to reach the scalp

The nutritionist further said that smoking also reduces the blood flow to the scalp. It does not absorb iron, which leads to the problem of iron deficiency resulting in anemia. This hinders the growth and health of hair and an individual experiences hair fall.

Nutritionist Anjali also told about home made remedies to quit cigarettes. Here are

Place a drop of clove oil on the back of your tongue. This will make you lose your desire to smoke immediately. This is the easiest way to quit smoking.

Apart from clove oil, chewing mint flavored gum, eating carrot sticks (to occupy your hands & mouth instead of smoking a cigarette) may go a long way in helping you kick the smoking habit, if combined with homeopathy.
