Gur Ki Gajak Recipe: Ingredients

  • 1000 grams jaggery
  • 10 tbsp ghee
  • 8 cups raw peanuts
  • 10 tbsp fennel

How to make Gur ki Gajak

Heat the ghee in a non stick pan on low heat, then melt the jaggery in the ghee. Let it become light golden on low flame.

Once golden, add fennel seeds and mix well.

After this, roast the peanuts in ghee. Then take another pan, add some ghee and roast peanuts in it.

When the jaggery is cooked, add the roasted peanuts to the jaggery mixture and mix well.

After this cook it on low flame.

Spread the jaggery on a glazed sheet and sprinkle a little ghee on a flat sheet of foil.

Now put the jaggery mixture on the glazed sheet and spread it all over.

Break it into 4 pieces and let it cool.

It will harden as it cools down. Break it into small pieces and serve and enjoy it.

Jaggery is beneficial in winter. It is an excellent source of magnesium, vitamins B1, B6 and C. It is rich in antioxidants and minerals like zinc, selenium. This helps in increasing immunity and speeding up metabolism. It also helps in reducing weight. On the other hand, peanuts contain nutrients like iron, calcium, potassium, copper and selenium. These are beneficial for health.
