This sacred month is devoted to Lord Shiva where people focus on complete purity, both spiritually and physically. During this period, many people try to avoid foods made with ginger, garlic, and onion, especially the non vegetarian foods. So, we have brought a pure satvik food recipe. Let’s dive into the creamy and irresistible recipe of shahi paneer.
Ingredients
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp curd
- 2 tbsp cashews
- 200g paneer (cubed)
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp fresh cream
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp ghee or oil
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
Step By Step Guide
Soak The Cashews And Blend
Here, you have to soak cashews in slightly warm water and leave for 10 minutes. Now, blend the cashews to form a smooth paste.
Toss The Spices In A Pan
Following on to the next step, heat a non-stick pan over a medium flame. Take a spoon of ghee or oil and heat it in a pan. Now add the spices, including cumin seeds and fry them until aromatic.
Mix Tomato Puree In The Pan
Moving to the next step, add the tomato puree and keep stirring until the oil starts to separate and the puree thickens.
Saute Cashew Paste In The Gravy
Now, pour the red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, and cashew paste in the pan. Keep stirring and cook for approx 2-3 minutes.
Add Paneer Cubes, Pour Cream And Curd In The Gravy
Once you are done with the above-mentioned steps, add the paneer, heavy cream, and yogurt to the gravy. Keep the flame low, sprinkle garam masala and stir well until it is completely mixed. Let it cook until the texture becomes thick.
Garnish And Serve
After completing the above steps, garnish the dish with a handful amount of coriander leaves. Serve hot with chapati or rice. Enjoy!
